Welcome to our 2025 playlist, vol. 2. This compilation includes 55 songs (3 hours of music) in three languages from 12 countries: the USA, UK, Canada, Spain, Australia, Portugal, Italy, Denmark, Germany, Ireland, Sweden, and Iceland.
The list is curated by members of Jungle Indie Rock, Rebjukebox (Reb), David Aznar (Dao), David López (daloja), Rose Briendl (Rose), and Mar de Miguel (Mar). Guest contributor: Isa. Our names are added at the end of each song.
The playlist also includes seven songs from artists who are part of the latest edition of our Jungle Bands project and 10 songs curated from all the submissions we’ve received on Tumblr. We still have to review emails and links we received on social media (please don’t do that). We listen to every song we receive (several hundred). If you’d like us to listen to your work for the next one, send it here.
All 55 songs on the playlist are good. There are no fillers here. There’s also no relationship between the order in which they appear on the tracklist and our preferences. That’s why you might find a completely unknown band in the top ten, and Thom Yorke, Sam Fender, Jason Isbell, Bully, or Ólafur Arnalds closing the playlist.
We like all the songs we’ve included, and we hope you do too. They’re sorted by sound, rhythm, or language. It’s like going to a party. At first, you are shy, but you end up dancing like there’s no tomorrow until the lights come on and they kick you out. We don’t kick you out here. Listen, support the artists, and come back soon.
