JayWood – Sun Baby
Sun Baby closes out Leo Negro, the forthcoming album from Montreal-based singer-songwriter Jeremy Haywood-Smith, known artistically as JayWood. Scheduled for release on September 5, 2025 through Captured Tracks, the record arrives as the artist garners national recognition with a Polaris Music Prize nomination in Canada.
“The main concept of the album is identity. I asked myself the question of ‘What are some things that make me who I am, no matter what changes occur in life?’ … I’m moving through life as a black man in spaces that don’t always understand me or will try to categorize me,” JayWood said.
