Vancrynes – Steady State of Emergency
Vancrynes has organized a repertoire of over 100 songs and surprised his fans on January 9, 2025, with the release of Steady State of Emergency, a fantastic self-produced debut album featuring 11 gems.
“Plenty of rhythmic and melodic treats across heartfelt and authentic lyrics. From the heart to your ears,” Angelo Saridis, the indie rock singer-songwriter known as Vancrynes, said.
The album opens with Justin Case, a track that makes it clear from the first note how Vancrynes works. The Australian artist, who joined Jungle Bands in 2024, exudes a sense of creative freedom. His music doesn’t conform to musical time or style. It doesn’t follow any pattern. To listen to it, you have to let yourself go, set aside your prejudices, and enjoy its naturalness.
Some musicians express themselves like abstract artists on a blank canvas. That’s what you’ll find on Steady State of Emergency, a collection of songs with influences that suddenly emerge, raw and stroke by stroke, blended into the canvas on which he paints his emotions and experiences.
This could describe Judgey, Speak Softly, MAWG, and Overly Concerned, one of my favorite tracks until I found Voyer’s Voyage, a psychedelic masterpiece that stimulates all the senses.
The album is a cult rarity for experienced ears but holds the potential to captivate a wider audience. You just have to be open to it and listen until the end.
