Introducing Ratboys

Ratboys have released three songs from their upcoming sixth studio album Singin’ to an Empty Chair, due out on February 6, 2026 via New West Records.
The three singles, each coming with its own video, What’s Right?, Light Night Mountains All That, and Anywhere showcase the band’s sound, described as a distinctive blend of post-country and indie rock.
The band’s story began in Chicago in 2010, when Julia Steiner and Dave Sagan started out as a duo before expanding into a four-piece. Today, the lineup features Steiner (vocals, guitar), Sagan (guitar), Marcus Nuccio (drums), and Sean Neumann (bass, vocals).
I have been looking for tracks for our December playlist and stumbled on a couple of songs from Ratboys during my search. A new discovery for me, so I will have fun checking out their previous work over the next few days. To date they have released five albums, AOID (2015), GN (2017), Printer’s Devil (2020), Happy Birthday Ratboy (2021), and The Window (2023).
Take a listen for yourself!
