The Go-Go’s – Our Lips Are Sealed (1981)
The Go-Go’s fueron una banda de chicas new wave, punk rock, o rock. Formada en Los Ángeles en 1978, The Go-Go’s constaba inicialmente de Belinda Carlisle (voz), Jane Wiedlin (guitarra, voz), Margot Olavarria (bajo) y Elissa Bello (batería). Más tarde se unió una guitarrista adicional, Charlotte Caffey, y a continuación, Kathy Valentine sustituyó a Olavarria en el bajo y Gina Schock reemplazó a Bello a la batería.
“Our Lips Are Sealed” es una canción escrita por la guitarrista de The Go-Go’s Jane Wiedlin y The Specials con Terry Hall, cantante de Fun Boy Three . Ambas lanzaron una versión de la canción. Primero lo hizo The Go-Go’s con el tema que abre su álbum de 1981 “Beauty and the Beat” y luego fue lanzada como sencillo, el 12 de junio de 1981. A continuación, el 29 de abril de 1983, la banda de Terry Hall y Fun Boy Three lanzó su versión de siete pulgadas. La versión de The Go-Go’s es la más conocida en Estados Unidos, y la de Fun Boy Three en el Reino Unido.
El vídeo musical oficial de la canción cuenta con los miembros de la banda que se montan en un descapotable, parando en una tienda de ropa interior y chapoteando en una fuente, con imágenes de la banda tocando en un club.
