Roxette – The Look (1989)
The Look was released on the 12th January 1989 as the fourth single from Roxette’s second album, Look Sharp! It became an international hit, and was one of the most successful singles of 1989. It topped the charts in 25 countries.
Roxette were a Swedish pop rock and soft rock duo, consisting of Marie Fredriksson (vocals and keyboards) and Per Gessle (vocals and guitar). Formed in 1986, the duo became an international act in the late 1980s.
Roxette singer Marie Fredriksson has died aged 61 from cancer. Our thoughts are with her family and friends at this sad time. “You were the most wonderful friend for over 40 years,” said her bandmate Per Gessle. “Things will never be the same,” he added. RIP Marie Fredriksson 🙁
Lyrics:
1-2-3-4
Walking like a man,
hitting like a hammer,
she’s a juvenile scam.
Never was a quitter,
tasty like a raindrop,
she’s got the look.
Heavenly bound
cause heaven’s got a number
when she’s spinning me around,
Kissing is a colour,
her loving is a wild dog,
she’s got the look.
What in the world can make a brown-eyed girl turn blue.
When everything I’ll ever do I’ll do for you
and I go: la la la la la
she’s got the look.
Fire in the ice,
naked to the T-bone
is a lover’s disguise.
Banging on the head drum,
shaking like a mad bull,
she’s got the look.
Swaying to the band,
moving like a hammer,
she’s a miracle man.
Loving is the ocean,
Kissing is the wet sand,
she’s got the look.
And she goes:
na na na na na na na na.
