Strand of Oaks – Weird Ways (Eraserland)

Eraserland- album cover

Eraserland, the seventh studio album by American folk rock singer-songwriter Timothy Showalter (aka Strand of Oaks), was released on March 22nd, 2019.

“Ten songs about existing and continuing on, a testament to the hope that even if we feel like we are disappearing, there is that glimmer of light. You may not come out the same person you started as, but that’s okay,” says the artist.

This work was recorded with members of My Morning Jacket Tom Blankenship, Patrick Hallahan, Carl Broemel, and Bo Kostel.

Lyrics:

I, I don’t feel it anymore
Somehow I see clearer than before
I hold on to the bastion of light
I turn my back to the meaning of life
And the scene isn’t my scene anymore
I dug too deep and was crawling on the floor
It’s what you make and the people you love
The more I burn the less I’ve got to show
What’s calling enough
Jumping in line at the store
Keep racing ahead
There’s no value in the score
Grind your teeth
And cut off all your sleeves
A few good riffs
And a sticky bag of greens
You said before
It’s not as bad as it seems
A grownup kid
Gets to live out on his dream
No self control
You keep singing through his stream
When you wake up
It’s closer than you think

There are cause in our places you can’t find
It’s a weird way of saying goodbye

There are cause in our places you can’t find
It’s a weird way of saying goodbye
