Bloody Thursdays

  Jungle International

Afghan Whigs – Algiers

The Afghan Whigs will return after a 16 year absence with new album Do to the Beast, out April 15 on Sub Pop. Here is the first video of a track from said album, directed by Philip Harder. So good to have them back!! I am a big fan of Greg Dulli’s vocals be it with the Afghan Whigs / The Twilight Singers / The Gutter Twins.

Modern Rivals – Pins and Stitches

Brooklyn quintet Modern Rivals seems somewhat fittingly named for their transcendent psychedelic pop that both evokes antique 60s mod optimism, while also sounding defiantly current with their experimental edge. From the album “Cemetery Dares”, available everywhere April 22nd, 2014.

Weatherbird – Where Eye Wanna Be

Released 17th March 2014 via End Of The Trail Records. The strong riffs, the semi-broken voice of the singer and the hard vocals arrangements are the three distinctive aspects to a band that is supporting a rebirth of Grunge and Alternative Rock. Weatherbird will be playing at The Sunflower Loungein Birmingham, UK, March 15th, 2014.

Yellerkin – Leave Me Be

This track is from a 4 track EP by Yellerkin. All four songs are about college life and with relationships with 3 girls. You can download the whole EP for free from Noisetrade.

The Delphines – Strut

Garage pop band from MilwaukeeWI, The Delphines released Strut, the B-side from their “Careless” single.

Blank Realm – Reach You On The Phone

This rock band out of Brisbane, Blank Realm, comprises of siblings Daniel Spencer (vocals and drums), Sarah Spencer (synth and vocals) and Luke Spencer (bass), with the addition of Luke Walsh on guitar. This is the closing track from latest eight track album ‘Grassed Inn’ which was released Jan 2014. Video directed, shot and edited by Josh Watson.
