Deeper Upper – I am The Colours

Deeper Upper

I Am The Colours‘, featured in the Mercedes-Benz Mixed Tape, is probably the most popular song by Deeper Upper, a indie rock quartet from Vilnius, Lithuania. Released on August 2011, this track is just an early example of the work of this promissing band.

The band was founded in 2010 and consists of Evaldas Arlauskas (synths, programming), Rimantas Nasutavicius (drums), Ignas Ivaska (guitar), and Kestutis Purvinskas (vocals, guitar, synths).

Lyrics:

It feels like a painting on the wall
And I’m the colours
Dragonflies and waterfalls
A new life incomer
The ashes merge into steel
And now I’m standing stark, I’m standing still

The doors open up and everything seems clear now
It takes me one last step and I’m the king,
I wear my crown

It feels like an endless music flow
And I’m the whole note
I can hear unsighted howl
Oh, but I don’t believe in ghosts
And all the stories tell the path is blocked
And all the stories tell the path is blocked
But I’m the key, I fit the lock

The doors open up and everything seems clear now
It takes me one last step and I’m the king,
I wear my crown

I am the colours
